The Government of India is making many efforts to bring the population under control. Campaigns are being run to raise awareness, but despite all this, the population of India is continuously increasing. Meanwhile, the report ‘World Population Prospects 2024’ from the United Nations has come out, further increasing India’s concern.
According to this report, India’s population will increase continuously until 2060, reaching around 1.7 billion by the end of 2026. After this, the population will decrease by up to 12 percent. This report further said that India will remain the most populous country in the world this century, which is very worrying.
This report further states that there is an 80 percent chance that the world’s population will be at its peak by the end of this century, i.e., by the year 2100. It was further told that until 2054, the population of 126 countries will continue to increase. These countries include India, America, Pakistan, and Nigeria.
