PwC Layoffs 2024: PwC has decided to reduce its workforce. According to a Wall Street Journal report, the company has announced that it will lay off 1,800 employees. All these layoffs will be done in America. This is the first time in the last 15 years that the company has decided to lay off employees.
These Departments Will Be Affected.
This announcement of PwC will affect many different departments. This layoff will have the biggest impact on the employees of the Managing Director, Business Service Audit, Associates and Tax Department. The company will lay off 2.5 percent of the employees working in America through this layoff. The company can complete the work of reducing the workforce by October 2024.
PwC America President Paul Griggs issued a memo saying that this decision will affect a small section of the company’s employees. He said this decision is always difficult but necessary in the company’s interest. He also said that this is the first time since 2009 that the company has decided to lay off employees.
Why Was The Decision Taken To Layoff Employees?
It is worth noting that PwC has decided to lay off employees after 15 years of low demand for its services. In his memo, Paul Griggs provided information about the company’s restructuring plan and said, “We are working on our plans and restructuring the company’s teams.”
For this reason, we have decided to lay off employees in many teams. This company’s decision is shocking because it has not made a single layoff in the last 15 years like its rival companies, Ernst & Young (EY), Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler (KPMG and Deloitte). But now the company has to make this decision.
