ISRO Satellites Launch: India has written a new history in space. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) launched 7 satellites simultaneously on Sunday (July 30). These include 1 indigenous and six satellites of Singapore. These satellites were launched from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh through a PSL-C56 rocket. PSLV-C56 is the mission of New Space India Limited, which is the commercial branch of ISRO.
PSLV-C56 rocket carrying Singapore’s Earth observation satellite DS-SAR and 6 other satellites took off at 6.30 am on Sunday. After launching the much-awaited Chandrayaan-3 this month, the PSLV-C56 launch is another major achievement of ISRO within a month. On July 14, ISRO successfully placed the LVM-3 launch vehicle in orbit from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota.
Third Commercial Mission Of The Year
This is the third commercial mission of the Indian Space Agency this year. In March, ISRO launched 36 satellites associated with Britain’s One-Wave (ONE-WAVE) with the LVM-3 rocket. After this, 2 satellites of Singapore were launched from a PSLV rocket in April. The DS-SAR has been developed under a partnership between Singapore’s Defense Science and Technology Agency and Singapore’s ST Engineering.
After launch, this satellite will be used for satellite imaging needs of various agencies of the Government of Singapore. DS-SAR is fitted with Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) developed by Israel Aerospace Industries. This will enable the satellite to take day and night images in all weather conditions.
PSLV Is The Workhorse Of ISRO
This was the 58th flight of ISRO’s reliable rocket PSLV and the 17th flight with ‘core alone configuration’. PSLV rocket is called the workhorse of ISRO. This huge rocket continuously successfully installs planets in the earth’s lower orbit.
