Travelling On Yamuna Expressway Has Become More Expensive, Toll Tax Increased By 4 Percent

Those travelling on the Yamuna Expressway must now pay more toll tax than before. The toll tax has been increased by 4 per cent. This decision was taken in Thursday’s 82nd Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority meeting. Sources say that the new rates will come into effect from October 1. Yamuna Expressway is also known as the Taj Expressway. Toll tax rates have been increased after two and a half years. Earlier, there was an increase of 12 percent.

According to the rule, rates are increased every year. Now, the increased rates will be implemented after the government’s approval. 64 percent compensation could not be given to the farmers for the land acquired for this expressway. Now, the remaining compensation will also be given to the farmers from the amount received from the increased rates. The CEO of Yamuna Authority, Arunvir Singh, gave me this information.

Toll Tax At The Rate Of Per Kilometer

Two-wheelers and three-wheelers: The toll must now be paid at Rs 1.50 per kilometre. Until now, the toll has been charged at the rate of Rs 1.25 for these vehicles.

Light four-wheeler passenger vehicles, such as cars and jeeps, have had their Toll rates increased from Rs 2.50 per kilometre to Rs 2.95 per kilometre.

Light commercial vehicles: The toll will now be Rs 4.60 per kilometre, up from Rs 4.15 per kilometre earlier.

Bus and truck: The toll will now be Rs 9.35 per kilometre, up from Rs 8.45 per kilometre earlier.

Heavy vehicles and multi-axle vehicles used in construction work: The toll rate on these vehicles has been increased to Rs 14.25 per kilometre. Earlier, it was Rs 12.90 per kilometre.

Oversized vehicles (with 7 or more axles): The toll will be Rs 18.35 per kilometre, up from Rs 16.60 earlier.
