Indian Railways: Ticket Booking Will Change From March 1st! What Are The New Rules For Passengers?

Indian Railways: If you book train tickets daily, this is a crucial time to do so. Indian Railways will discontinue its long-used UTS booking app from March 1. The UTS app has been a trusted companion for passengers, enabling booking of general, platform, and other unreserved tickets. Millions of passengers use this app daily for their travels because it offers easy, fast, and direct mobile ticket booking.

The UTS app became a must-have for passengers without reserved seats. It allowed them to book general tickets and platform tickets from the nearest station and plan their journey instantly. This change requires passengers to prepare in advance and familiarise themselves with the new ticket booking process.

Which app will be used in its place?

  • The Railways has now discontinued the UTS app and prioritised the new and more advanced RailOne app.
  • This new app will allow for general and platform ticket booking.
  • As an integrated digital platform, the app also offers services such as IRCTC and NTES.
  • Passengers will now have to rely solely on RailOne for all their ticketing needs.

Discounts Available

  • Passengers booking general tickets on the RailOne app will also receive a 3% discount on digital payments.
  • This offer will be available on the RailOne app until July 14, 2026.
  • This discount will benefit passengers who book general tickets on a daily or occasional basis.
  • You can also use your R-Wallet balance in the new RailOne app to make digital payments even easier.

To book tickets on this app, passengers can pay using UPI, debit and credit cards, R-Wallet, and net banking.

These are its features.

The RailOne app combines several features. This includes not only ticket booking, ticket status checks, live train running, and platform ticketing, but also an integrated experience with IRCTC and NTES services within the app. This will provide passengers with a variety of services under one roof, making travel planning even easier.
