If you receive an LPG cylinder and haven’t yet completed your e-KYC, delaying it today could prove costly. The last date for LPG e-KYC is August 16, 2026. Customers with pending e-KYC should try to complete it today.
There’s confusion about whether the deadline is August 15 or 16. Therefore, customers must complete their KYC instead of worrying about the deadline. This process can be completed both online and offline for Indane, Bharat Gas, and HP Gas customers.
Who needs to complete e-KYC?
E-KYC is done to verify the identity of an LPG connection through Aadhaar. It’s especially necessary for connections under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PM-Ujjwala Yojana). According to the official PMUY website, customers can also complete this process through their LPG distributor. At the same time, if a customer has not yet completed their verification, they should complete e-KYC to update their information.
What will be the impact of not completing e-KYC?
Failing to complete e-KYC on time may lead to problems in purchasing LPG cylinders in the future. This could also impact the subsidy received by Ujjwala Yojana customers. However, this does not mean that all LPG connections will be immediately terminated after August 16. So, there is no need to panic, but it would also be inappropriate to delay your KYC.
How will e-KYC be done for Indane, Bharat Gas, and HP Gas?
Customers can complete this process from home using their gas company’s app. This will require Aadhaar authentication and face verification.
- Indane: The e-KYC process can be initiated through the Indane Oil One app.
- Bharat Gas: Aadhaar-based e-KYC can be completed through the Hello BPCL app.
- HP Gas: The process will be completed through Aadhaar verification and face authentication on the HP Pay app.
The Aadhaar Face RD app may also be required for this.

If you don’t have a smartphone or are having trouble completing e-KYC in the app, contact your nearest gas agency or LPG distributor. E-KYC can also be completed through a biometric machine there. Therefore, it’s best to check your KYC status today to avoid problems with cylinders or subsidies later.
