However, according to several media reports in England, European clubs have rejected this proposal. First, the Champions League and domestic leagues of various countries were in full swing then. Problems may arise as to how to find time for another new competition. Secondly, how the clubs will qualify is not stated. If a new competition is required to qualify, clubs will not participate.
Incidentally, the 24-team Club World Cup was supposed to be held in 2021. It was cancelled due to covid. Before this, FIFA repeatedly raised the issue of a larger club World Cup. They could never show a proper plan. Some days ago, there was talk about organizing a new competition called ‘Super League’, and many think that FIFA’s latest competition reflects that.
Now the Club World Cup lasts for 10 days, played by clubs from seven continents. The best teams from North America, Asia, Oceania and Africa meet in the quarter-finals. The winners of Europe and South America play in the semi-finals against the two winners. The winner of those two matches plays the final. Next year the Club World Cup will be held in Morocco. Real Madrid, Seattle Sounders, Wydad Casablanca and Auckland City qualified for that World Cup.
