Cement Industry Will Increase Production Capacity By 15-16 Crore Rupees In Four Years

To take advantage of the growing demand from the infrastructure and residential sectors, the domestic cement industry will increase its production capacity by 15-16 crore tonnes per annum in the next four financial years, i.e., until FY 2027-28. CRISIL Ratings has released a report regarding this.

Capacity Of Cement Industry Increased To 595 Million Tonnes

According to a report by CRISIL Ratings, the cement industry’s capacity has increased by 119 million tonnes to 595 million tonnes during the last five financial years. According to the report, companies will increase their capacity to meet the growing demand and strengthen their market share in the competitive industry.

Demand Has Increased So Much In The Last 10 Years

Cement demand increased by eight and 12 percent during the financial years 2021-22 and 2022-23, respectively. According to the report, production capacity is expected to increase by 7 to 75 million tonnes in the next financial year. Out of this, 50-55 percent of production capacity will increase in the eastern and central regions. Big companies will have a 50-55 percent share in the total production capacity increase.
