Mairwa Railway Station

The appearance of Mairwa railway station is improving. Since its selection as Amrit station, the railway station has been upgraded and improved to enhance passenger facilities. The foundation for the lift on platforms one and two has been completed. At the same time, improvement work is being done with standard lighting in the station building and circulating area.

The VDC platform surfacing work has also been completed in 6000 square meters. Many works are to be done, including expanding the station building, building and beautifying the porch, building a passenger waiting room, building a toilet, and building a 3.6-meter-wide pedestrian overbridge. LED displays have been installed on the station building. The water supply also starts after the water tank is ready.

Airport-Like Facilities Will Be Available

The outer look of the railway station has changed, which is worth seeing. After selecting Mairwa railway station as Amrit station, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of redevelopment work for 12.43 crores through video conferencing on 26 February to equip it with modern passenger facilities. At that time, public representatives, workers of many political parties, railway officials, workers, and local people were present on the railway premises at the foundation stone laying ceremony.

Amrit Bharat Railway Station Yojana includes improving the circulating area, approaching the road, repaving the platform surface and equipping the waiting hall and departure centre with modern facilities. Arrangements have been made to provide information to passengers through digital displays of trains’ arrival and departure and train coach stoppages.

A large display was installed outside the railway station to provide information about the train’s status, but it had not been started. The shed has been extended on the platform, and special lighting will be arranged on the entire platform.

At present, the lighting system has improved as compared to earlier. A reservation ticket booking room, passenger waiting room, and accessible toilet will be built. It is being told that the plan is to provide airport-like facilities to railway passengers. The outlook of the railway station has started looking attractive.
