IIT Delhi Shines in QS Ranking 2025

London-based Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) released the ranking on March 13, 2025, in which IIT Delhi has secured the 26th rank in the world in the field of engineering and technology. With this, IIT Delhi has emerged as the top engineering institute of India.

Additionally, in the QS ranking, IIT Delhi has achieved a top 100 world ranking in 12 subjects, including computer science, information systems, data science and AI, chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mineral and mining engineering, environmental science, and mathematics.

IIT Bombay is the Top In India

While IIT Delhi excels in engineering and technology in the QS World Ranking, IIT Bombay ranks first in India in the overall ranking. In the QS World Ranking 2025, IIT Delhi’s ranking is 150, while IIT Bombay’s ranking is 118, which was 149 in 2024. Similarly, IIT Kharagpur’s world ranking is 222, IIT Madras’s is 227, IIT Kanpur’s is 263, IIT Roorkee’s is 335, and IIT Guwahati’s is 344.

Global Stature Of IITs In The Country Is Increasing

There are 21 IITs in the country, out of which the top IITs are constantly improving their performance and increasing their global stature. Regarding the QS Ranking 2025, the world ranking of the top IITs in the country is under 350.
