US President Joe Biden is coming to India on Thursday (September 7) to attend the G-20 summit. The White House has informed about this. According to the White House, Joe Biden will hold a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 8. Significantly, this year, India is presiding over the G-20 summit. India will host world leaders for the summit in New Delhi on 9 and 10 September.
The White House said on Friday that the president would travel to New Delhi, India, on Thursday to attend the G-20 leaders’ summit. A day after reaching India, on September 8, President Biden will participate in a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Modi.
After this, Biden will participate in the G-20 summit on Saturday and Sunday. He will discuss with the leaders of the member countries of the G-20 summit other critical global issues, including adopting clean energy and dealing with climate change.
The Russia-Ukraine War Will Also Be Discussed
According to the information given by the White House, he will also discuss with the leaders attending the G-20 summit on reducing the economic and social impacts of the Russia-Ukraine war and tackling global challenges, including poverty. There will also be talks on increasing the capacity of multilateral development banks, including the World Bank, to fight terrorism better.
Doubts Persist Over Chinese President’s Visit To India
There is doubt whether or not Chinese President Xi Jinping will come to India to attend the G-20 summit. According to media reports, it is being claimed that the chances of Jinping coming to India are very low. Also, China has not yet given official consent to Xi Jinping’s visit to India. Also, Russian President Vladimir Putin will not participate in the G-20 summit in India.
