Royal Enfield will launch its motorcycle Himalayan 450 on November 1, 2023. A leaked homologation document has revealed its engine and dimension details before its official launch.
According to the leaked information, this adventure bike will get a new 451.65cc liquid-cooled engine. The maximum power of 40PS and torque of about 40-45Nm will be available. The total weight of Himalayan 450 is 394 kg, and its loading capacity is 180 kg. It has a long wheelbase of 1510mm.
Hardware
Compared to the KTM 390 Adventure, the Himalayan 450 has slightly less power but a longer wheelbase. This bike will be provided with 21-inch front and 19-inch rear wheels and will also have the facility of front and rear disc brakes with optional dual-channel ABS. It will also get ride-by-wire technology, USD front forks and a mono-shock rear suspension.
Features
The features of the Himalayan 450 include a fully digital instrument cluster, Bluetooth navigation, a round headlight, all-LED lighting, dual LED indicators, brake signals and a triple-in-one tail lamp. Royal Enfield will also offer a series of accessories for the Himalayan 450, which includes multiple seat options, mirrors, crash guards, handlebar guards, footpegs and more.
Price and Competition
Talking about the price, the ex-showroom price of Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is expected to be around Rs 2.8 lakh. Its direct competition will be with KTM 390 Adventure, BMW G310 GS and Hero XPulse 400.
Apart from this, Royal Enfield is also preparing to enter the pre-owned/used bike market, as the company has recently trademarked the name ‘Reone’. Royal Enfield will sell models under the Reon brand name with complete quality testing and a limited-period warranty. Besides, the company is also preparing to enter the electric bike segment in the next few years.
