The Indian Air Force needed a Medium Transport Aircraft (MTA). Understanding this, auto segment giant Mahindra Group has announced that it will manufacture C 390 Millennium aircraft in collaboration with Brazilian company Embraer. Both companies have agreed to prepare the plane according to the needs of the Air Force. Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra also announced this deal on social media.
Talks Were Going On With Mahindra and Tata Group
The Air Force is looking for an MTA capable of lifting 18 to 30 tonnes of weight. Embraer displayed this C-390 Millennium Multi-Mission Tactical Air Transport in Bengaluru in February. Embraer was in talks with Mahindra and Tata Group regarding this aircraft. But on Friday, Mahindra took the lead and announced the deal. An MOU has been signed between the two companies.

Anand Mahindra Announced The Deal
The world’s third-largest passenger jet manufacturer, Embraer Defense and Security, and Mahindra Defense Systems will collaborate on this deal. Anand Mahindra tweeted that he is pleased with this deal. With its help, we will be able to meet the needs of the Indian Air Force. The Air Force is going to issue a tender for MTA soon. Our joint venture will also participate in this.
Tata and Airbus Had Signed A Deal
Recently, Tata Group signed a deal with aircraft manufacturing company Airbus to manufacture an H125 single-engine helicopter. According to the agreement, 40 C295 transport aircraft will also be manufactured in the assembly line located in Vadodara. Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran had said that the H125 helicopters manufactured here will also be exported. There is an immediate demand for up to 800 such helicopters in India.

The Brazilian Air Force uses the C-390. After this, it was also purchased by the armies of Portugal, Hungary, Netherlands, Austria, Czech Republic and South Korea. Embraer has provided many different aircraft types to DRDO, BSF and the Government of India.
