It would be best if you remembered Yamaha’s famous bike from the nineties, the Yamaha RX 100. This bike was trendy in the country due to its tremendous performance and great pick-up. Recently, news of this motorcycle being relaunched in India came to light. But now its launch is difficult.
Yamaha Motor India President Eishin Chihana discussed the difficulties of its launch. What problems can be faced in bringing it back to the market?
It Is Difficult To Give ‘Ring-Ding-Ding’ Soundtrack In The Bike
The soundtrack of RX100 was ‘Ring-Ding-Ding’, which can be a big task to give again in the motorcycle. This bike used to come with a 2-stroke engine earlier, which was stopped due to pollution. Most of all, bikes come with environmentally friendly 4-stroke engines. Creating a ‘Ring-Ding-Ding’ soundtrack with 4-stroke engines is an impossible task.
Challenging To Make In Less Weight
The modern avatar of RX100 can be given in old-school style. But making it the same weight as it used to come earlier is very difficult. According to Eishin Chihana, 100cc bikes cannot perform very well. At least a 200cc engine must be installed to increase the bike’s performance. Due to this, its weight will increase.
May Be Launched After 2026
Recently, it was said that this bike could be launched soon. But now it is being told that it can be launched after 2026. But looking at the problems in making it, it seems that it may take 3 to 4 more years to come to the market. Yamaha Motor India President Eishin Chihana told Zeegwheels.com these things during an interview.
