Rules Change from December 1: There are only two days left in November, and as soon as it ends, some rules will change starting December 1, 2025, directly impacting your pocket. Many of these rules will directly impact your pocket. Let’s explore them:
Changes to Aadhaar Card
UIDAI is making major changes to the Aadhaar card starting December 1. Until now, your Aadhaar card has contained important details such as your name, address, and Aadhaar number. Now, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is extensively redesigning the Aadhaar card. It will only display the holder’s photo and a QR code, eliminating personal information such as name, address, and the 12-digit Aadhaar number.
LPG Prices to Change on December 1
Cooking gas prices will change on December 1. Oil marketing companies change LPG rates on the first of every month based on global prices and currency fluctuations. Last month, there were no changes in the price of domestic gas cylinders. Now, on December 1, it will be known whether households will receive relief or increase expenses.
Aviation Turbine Fuel Prices
Aviation turbine fuel prices will also be revised, similar to LPG. Any change impacts airlines’ operating costs and often affects ticket prices during peak travel periods. With demand already rising during the holiday season, industry observers expect even a slight change in ATF prices to be reflected in fares by December.
Filing Life Certificates Before December 1
For millions of pensioners, the annual life certificate is the most important compliance of the year. The deadline for submitting it is November 30. Missing the deadline could result in a temporary suspension of pension credits. Although many people have shifted to the digital Jeevan Pramaan system, banks and post offices continue to receive walk-in submissions. After December 1, pensioners who are unable to file certificates will face delays until their details are re-verified.
Two New SBI Rules
The State Bank of India is implementing two new rules from December 1. After November 30, customers will no longer be able to make transactions using mCash. Customers can instead use platforms like UPI, RTGS, and NEFT. ATM fees have also been changed, affecting debit card users. Transactions exceeding the prescribed limit will incur an additional fee of approximately ₹2.
Kotak Mahindra Bank SMS Clerk Charges
Kotak Mahindra Bank has changed its savings account rules. From December 1, a fee of 0.15 paise per SMS alert will be charged. However, this charge will apply to SMS alerts exceeding 30 times per month. This rule will also apply to RTGS, IMPS transfers, ATM withdrawals, and other transactions. However, some people have received relief.
Changes in the Labour Code
The new Labour Code will come into effect on December 1. According to this, the salary structure will change. 50% of employees’ total salary will be considered basic salary. Additionally, a gratuity provision will be implemented after one year.
Also, rules regarding ration cards will change. The deadline for updating ration cards is December 31. Aadhaar linking is mandatory. Now, registration and verification of SIM card vendors will be mandatory. Fines of up to 10 lakh rupees and imprisonment are also possible.
