There is a fight between India and Pakistan that if the Indian team does not go to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023, then the Pakistan team will also not come to India to play in the World Cup. Regarding this, former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Irfan shared his views and expressed that the teams should go to each other to play cricket and the players should stay away from politics.
The left-arm fast bowler playing in the T10 league for the Northern Warriors also said that rumours about the controversy should not be considered. He said, “I have said this before also. Sportspeople should keep away from politics. Pakistan should go to India, and India should come to Pakistan to play. This will increase the love between the people of the two countries. Cricket should be separated from politics.” Don’t go by the statement that Pakistan will not come to India; let the board decide.
In October, BCCI secretary and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) chairman Jay Shah stated that the Indian team will not tour Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023, and the tournament will be played at a neutral venue. The displeasure of the Pakistan Cricket Board, i.e. PCB, came to the fore. The board also officially wrote a letter to the ACC. PCB chairman Rameez Raja threatened that if India did not come to Pakistan for the 2023 Asia Cup, the Pakistan team would also not travel to India to play in the 2023 ODI World Cup.
