Announcement By The Central Government
The Central Government has announced that if the Global Navigation Satellite System, i.e. GNSS, is in active mode, it is fitted in someone’s vehicle. His vehicle will not have to pay any toll tax for running up to 20 kilometres daily on expressways and highways.
For your information, let us tell you that GNSS is a type of satellite system that keeps it informed about the location when installed in the vehicle. Central Road Transport and Highways recently changed the National Highway Fee Rules 2008. The ministry has also issued its notification.
You Will Not Have To Pay Any Toll Tax
Under this rule, if your vehicle travels 20 km on the expressway and highway and there is a toll plaza during this time, you will not have to pay any toll tax. If you travel more than 20 km, then toll tax will be collected as before. The ministry said GNSS technology will only collect toll tax in the coming days. This way, the toll will be paid according to the vehicle’s location. The special thing is that the technology will also work with Fastag. Its biggest advantage will be that people will not have to stop at the toll plaza.
