Includes Some Regional Festivals and Weekly Holidays
There are a total of 12 holidays in June. During this time, Bakrid, as well as some regional festivals and weekly holidays, are observed. All government and private banks in the country have holidays on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month. Apart from this, all Sundays are weekly holidays. The schedule of holidays in the RBI calendar may vary by state. Therefore, it is essential to obtain the list of holidays from the local branch in advance for emergencies or extended weekends. When Is The Long Weekend In June?
Banks will be closed on Friday, June 6, in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, due to Eid-ul-Adha (Bakrid). There will be a holiday on Bakrid (Eid-ul-Zuha) on Saturday, June 7, across the country. June 6 (Friday): Banks in Kerala will be closed due to Eid-ul-Adha (Bakrid).

June 8 (Sunday): Banks will remain closed nationwide due to a weekly holiday.
June 11 (Wednesday): Banks in Sikkim and Himachal Pradesh will remain closed due to Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti/Saga Dawa.
June 14 (Saturday): Second Saturday holiday across the country.
June 15 (Sunday): Banks will remain closed across India due to a weekly holiday.
June 22 (Sunday): Banks will remain closed nationwide due to a weekly holiday.
June 27 (Friday): Banks in Odisha and Manipur will remain closed due to the Rath Yatra/Kang festival.
June 28 (Saturday): Fourth Saturday holiday across the country.
June 29 (Sunday): Banks will remain closed across India due to a weekly holiday.
June 30 (Monday): Banks will remain closed in Mizoram on account of Remna Ni.
App and UPI Will Always Work
You can use online or mobile banking services even when banks are closed, unless you are informed otherwise due to technical or other reasons. If you need cash, ATMs remain open and you can withdraw money from them. Additionally, apps and UPI will continue to function as usual. The RBI announces the calendar of annual holidays for banks under the Negotiable Instruments Act.
Please note that the RBI and state governments jointly prepare the list of bank holidays. In this, national and local festivals, working needs of banks, religious festivals and other cultural events are taken into consideration. The central bank announces these holidays by posting information on its official website and sending notifications to banks and other financial institutions.
