Flipkart Is Preparing To Dominate The Digital Payment Sector, Entered 5 New Categories

Flipkart Digital Payment: E-commerce giant Flipkart is moving strongly in the digital payment sector. The company has further stepped forward in the recharge and bill payment category. Flipkart has included Fastag, DTH Recharges, Landline, Broadband and Mobile Postpaid Bill Payment in the new category. Now, customers can get offers up to 10 percent by earning SuperCoins using Flipkart UPI.

Flipkart Launches 5 Recharge and Bill Payment Categories

On Wednesday, Flipkart announced its app’s launch of five new recharge and bill payment categories, including Fastag, DTH recharge, landline, broadband, and mobile postpaid bill payment. Currently, options like electricity and mobile prepaid recharge are available on Flipkart. Flipkart has partnered with BillDesk to integrate new services with the Bharat Bill Payments System (BBPS) developed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). You can get up to a 10 percent discount through Supercoins from Flipkart UPI.

BBPS Processed 1.3 Billion Transactions

In FY 2024, BBPS (Bharat Bill Payment System) processed around 1.3 billion transactions. This figure is expected to exceed 3 billion by FY 2026. The Bharat Bill Payments System supports more than 20 types of bills and more than 21,000 billers. More than 70 percent of bill payments are made through digital methods. Flipkart has tried to attract the growing demand in this sector by launching new categories.
