PM Kisan: One of the central government’s most ambitious schemes, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan Samman Nidhi), has generated a lot of excitement among millions of farmers across the country. The financial assistance of Rs. 2,000, provided three times a year, not only covers minor farming expenses but also provides significant support to farmers. So far, 21 instalments have been distributed under this scheme, and all eyes are now on the 22nd instalment. Since the last instalment was released on November 19, 2025, the time for the next instalment is now near.
Farmers may receive a major gift before Holi.
According to media reports, the government is preparing to distribute this gift to farmers ahead of Holi. The 22nd instalment of the PM Kisan Yojana is expected to be released at any time after February 24, 2026. Although no official date has been announced yet, given the pattern of previous instalments and the timing of the festival, it is expected that the government will disburse the funds in time to ensure that the joy of Holi is not spoiled. It is worth noting that this scheme was launched in the 2019 interim budget and has now become the world’s largest Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme.
Which farmers will receive Rs. 4,000?
A particular discussion regarding this instalment is surrounding the amount of Rs. 4,000. Usually, Rs. 2,000 is sent under this scheme, but this time, many farmers may receive Rs. 4,000. This is not a bonus but a right for farmers whose previous instalments were delayed due to technical issues or incomplete paperwork.
Eligible farmers who missed the 21st instalment and have now rectified their deficiencies will receive a combined payment from the previous and current instalments. This means that ₹4,000 will be transferred directly to their account. Other farmers with normal circumstances will receive ₹2,000 as usual.
A single mistake could block your funds.
If you want the funds to reach your account without interruption, you need to be cautious. The government has made it clear that funds will not be released without e-KYC. This step is crucial to bring transparency to the scheme.
If you haven’t yet completed your e-KYC, please do so immediately by visiting the PM Kisan portal via OTP or by visiting your nearest CSC centre using the biometric method. Additionally, new farmers will also need to complete the application and verification process as soon as possible to avail the benefits of the scheme.
Check your status this way.
