May is very special for Punjab National Bank customers, i.e., PNB customers. Customers must do one thing by May 31; otherwise, their accounts may be closed. However, some accounts will not be closed.
Let us tell you that the bank recently issued an alert. It was said that the savings accounts of account holders who have not been active for three years will be closed within a month. These are savings accounts in which there has been no transaction for three years, and the money deposited in these accounts is also zero. The bank will close such inactive accounts, and no separate notice will be issued.
How Can The Account Be Saved From Closure?
If you have not made any transactions in your account in this bank for the last three years or have not deposited any money in it, then be careful. If the KYC of such a bank account is completed by May 31, 2024, then your account can be saved from closure.
Which Accounts Will Not Be Closed?
Remember that accounts linked to demat-lockers, accounts of students under 25, or accounts opened for PMJJBY, SSY, PMSBY, or SPY will not be closed.
Why Was The Decision Taken?
Punjab National Bank has closed such accounts to avoid misuse and security risk. If your account has been closed, you can reactivate it by submitting the KYC documents related to it.
