After joining the Eknath Shinde-led Maharashtra government, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar and Minister of State Chhagan Bhujbal reached his residence on Monday to meet Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis. According to sources, there will be a discussion on the ministry’s division during this meeting. Ajit Pawar and nine MLAs joined the government on Sunday, rebelling against his uncle Sharad Pawar. All the MLAs were sworn in at the Raj Bhavan on the same day.
Apart from Ajit Pawar and Chhagan Bhujbal, NCP leader Praful Patel has also reached Fadnavis’ official residence Meghdoot Bungalow. A source close to Ajit Pawar said they would discuss the ministry between them. In the past, Ajit Pawar was responsible for the Water Resources, Electricity and Finance Department. At present, Fadnavis is keeping all these three ministries. Apart from this, Fadnavis is also handling the responsibility of the Home Ministry.

NCP leader Ajit Pawar on the occasion of the party’s foundation day itself, appealed to Sharad Pawar to free him from the responsibility of the Leader of the Opposition and give him the responsibility of the organization. However, his demand was allegedly ignored, and Sharad Pawar said that a single person does not take such decisions.
Meanwhile, Ajit Pawar had resigned from this post on Friday. While Sharad Pawar was engaged in a war of words with Deputy CM Fadnavis over the government formed for a short period in 2019, Ajit Pawar surprised everyone in the NCP by joining the government. At the same time, Ajit Pawar claims that most of the MLAs of the party are with him. Some are abroad and have not been contacted yet.
