Ayushman Yojana Expansion, Free Treatment in Private Hospitals

Ayushman Yojana: Good health is one of the basic needs of a human being. However, in the inflation era, not everyone can get better treatment. For such people, the Modi government started the Ayushman Yojana. Under this scheme, many people can get free treatment in government hospitals. But now the scope of Ayushman Yojana is being increased further.

Yes, the central government has made preparations to increase this scheme. With this increase, people can now get free treatment in expensive hospitals. The government itself disclosed this during the Parliament session. Let us know what the whole matter is.

Scope Of Ayushman Yojana Will Increase

During the monsoon session of Parliament, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Arvind Sawant raised questions about the Ayushman Yojana in the House. He said that private-sector hospitals do not come under the scope of this scheme, which causes people to face problems in treatment. Many places have no good government hospitals or doctors, so people have to turn to private hospitals. People face issues because many private hospitals do not comply with this scheme.

In response to Shiv Sena MP’s question, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Anupriya Patel replied on behalf of the government. Patel clarified that the government is constantly trying to increase the scope of this scheme. This work is going on. The number of impaneled hospitals is also being increased. Discussions are being held with the National Health Authority, state governments, and state health authorities.

States Have Also Been Given The Facility

Patel said that in addition to the Center, state governments have been given the facility to customize the hospitals according to their convenience and needs. They can do so in states or territories where hospitals can be increased or changed.

Claim Settlement Process Is Being Discussed

Minister Anupriya Patel said that talks are being held to simplify the claim settlement process in private hospitals and encourage people to take advantage of it. Hospitals are also given instructions related to this from time to time. Patel said that when the scheme was started in 2018, the number of empanelled hospitals was around 8,000, whereas now it has increased to 29,281.

Ayushman Cards Are Being Made Rapidly

Not only this, Ayushman cards are also being made rapidly across the country. The scheme is also being increased so that more and more people can take advantage of it. Its preparation continues continuously. People are also being made aware of this. Under this, Asha and ANM are being sent door to door to explain the scheme’s benefits and needs to the people. Efforts are also being made to make the process easier so that people can get their cards made immediately and take advantage of this scheme. Along with this, efforts are also being made to connect them with private hospitals.

Green Channel Initiative Started.

The government has also started the Green Channel Initiative to expand the scope of Ayushman Yojana. Under this initiative, the government makes a 50% upfront payment to hospitals whose records are clean so that there is no problem with treatment.

The government also said the people’s data coming under this scheme is confidential. BJP MP and Health Minister JP Nadda said that efforts are also being made to bring all the patients and health records on one platform under the Digital Mission. He said this follows the Digital Personal Data Protection Act to protect personal information.
