Congress Has Accused Of Diverting People’s Attention In The Name Of UCC

After this statement of Narendra Modi, the discussion on UCC has started again in the country. The BJP is trying to take advantage of this in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. At the same time, Congress leaders have accused PM Modi of using the UCC issue to divert attention from real problems like price rise, unemployment and the situation in Manipur.

Significantly, the purpose of the Uniform Civil Code is to replace personal laws based on religions, customs and traditions with a uniform law. According to UCC, personal law shall be the same for every person irrespective of religion, caste, creed and gender.
