The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has removed the Periodic Table, Democracy and Sources of Energy chapters from the Class 10 Chemistry textbooks. Charles Darwin’s chapters on Evolution, The Origin of Earth, Human Evolution and Inheritance, as well as Charles Darwin’s chapters on Evolution, Origin of Life on Earth, Human Evolution and Inheritance, as well as the chapter on the periodic classification of the elements, are all included in the Orbit 10 have been removed from the CBSE Science textbooks. Here below is the list of chapters removed from class 10 books.
Science
- Chapter 5: Periodic Classification of Elements
- Chapter 14: Sources of Energy
- Chapter 16: Sustainable Management of Natural Resources
Democratic Politics
- Chapter 5: Popular Struggles and Movements
- Chapter 6: Political Parties
- Chapter 8: Challenges to Democracy
According to NCERT, these chapters were not taught during the pandemic due to a brief rationalization of the syllabus. The chapter is renamed from “Heredity” to “Heredity and Evolution”. If students want to study all these subjects, they can choose the respective subject in classes 11 and 12. Class 10th in India is the last year science is taught as a compulsory subject. Those who study chemistry in classes 11th and 12th will only study the periodic table.
