If You Don’t Like Eating Gourd, Then Make It Tasty With This Twist

Fibre, manganese, zinc, magnesium and vitamin C are found in abundance in bottle gourd. It is low in saturated fat and calories, and it contains plenty of water. Therefore, it can help in cooling the body in summer. Eating it is beneficial for health in many ways. In this way, bottle gourd can also be called a superfood.

People include bottle gourd in their diet in various ways, such as making juice from the bottle gourd or using it as a vegetable. But children do not like to eat bottle gourd in this way. In such a situation, you can make many tasty and healthy things from bottle gourd. As a result, the food will be both tasty and nutritious.

Bottle Gourd Raita

Bundi, cucumber and various types of raita are consumed to keep the body hydrated in summer. In such a situation, you can make bottle gourd raita with lunch. It will be good for both children and adults. To make it, steam the bottle gourd. After this, grate it. Now mix it in curd, add roasted cumin seeds and salt. Keep in mind that the water that comes out while grating the gourd should not be thrown away; instead, you can mix it into curd.

Gourd Chutney

Chutney doubles the taste of food. You must have heard a lot about mint and coriander chutney, but you can also make gourd chutney. To prepare it, place chopped gourd in a cooker and add salt, turmeric powder, and water as needed. Close the lid and set it on a low flame to heat. After one whistle, turn off the gas. Now, when the cooker has cooled down, remove the water from the gourd.

Now mash it well with the help of a sieve or spoon. After this, grind garlic in the mix. Now, put a pan on the gas and add the oil to heat. Next, add the ground garlic and fry until it turns golden brown. After this, add red chilli powder, turmeric and salt to it. Keep stirring it with a ladle and let it fry for a few seconds. After this, add the mashed bottle gourd and cook it. When the water dries up, turn off the gas. Delicious bottle gourd chutney is ready.

Lauki Dhokla

If you want to try something different, you can also make bottle gourd dhokla. To make it, grate the bottle gourd. To make it, wash the bottle gourd and grate it. Add semolina and gram flour to it. Also, make a paste by mixing onion, garlic, red chilli powder, salt, chilli flakes, turmeric powder, chaat masala, and curd as required. If the batter becomes too thick, you can add 1 or 2 tablespoons of water to thin it out. Mix green coriander and oil in this batter.

After this, add water to the pan and place it on the stand. When the water becomes hot, add Eno to the batter, mix it and keep it on the stand. Steam it on a low flame for 20 to 25 minutes. Check with the help of a toothpick. Turn off the gas. Serve after it cools down.
