Jio AirFiber Launch Date: Internet users will now enjoy high-speed internet at home without the hassle of fibre cables. Jio’s AirFiber will be launched on 19 September (Ganesh Chaturthi). Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani announced this on Monday. Jio AirFiber will provide wireless broadband service to homes and offices using a 5G network and state-of-the-art wireless technology.
Jio AirFiber Will Work Like This
Let us tell you that Reliance Industries introduced Jio Airfiber in the AGM last year itself. After this, it was being run as a pilot project. It is clear from its name that this service will wirelessly provide a fibre-like facility to the users. For this, the company will use a 5G antenna. As soon as the Jio AirFiber device is plugged in, like a WiFI hotspot, the device will benefit from 5G internet speed. Users can get speeds of up to 1Gbps on Jio AirFiber.
Jio’s optical fibre infrastructure is spread over 1.5 million kilometres across India. An average optical fibre user uses over 280 GB of monthly data, ten times more than Jio’s per capita mobile data consumption.
Jio Will Add 1.5 Lakh New Customers Every Day
Mukesh Ambani said on the occasion of its launch, “More than 1 crore campuses are connected to Jio Fiber optical fibre service. Still, there are lakhs of campuses where it isn’t easy to provide wire connectivity. Jio AirFiber will ease this difficulty. Through this, we are expecting to reach 20 crore homes and premises. With the arrival of Jio AirFiber, Jio will be able to add 1.5 lakh new customers daily.” Jio True 5G Developer Platform and Jio True 5G Lab were also launched in the 46th Annual Meeting.
