The company said in an official note that WordPad is no longer being updated and will be removed in a future release of Windows. Instead of this app, the company advises users to use Microsoft Word for rich text files like .doc and .rtf and Windows Notepad for normal text files like .txt.
Let us tell you, some time ago, Microsoft added many new capabilities to its free-tier Notepad, which includes tab auto-save and auto-restore.
