Samsung Will Make India a Laptop Hub, Noida Factory Gears Up for Production

Tech company Samsung is soon going to manufacture laptops in India. Samsung will start manufacturing laptops at its Noida facility this year, TM Roh, president and head of Mobile Experience (MX) business, said in an interaction. The move highlights India’s growing importance as a manufacturing hub for the Korean electronics giant, which counts India as its second-largest manufacturing unit.

Global Head of Mobile Business TM Roh said preparations have already started for its launch. In August last year, India banned the import of laptops, tablets, servers, and other items. The company will continue cooperating with the government to strengthen manufacturing in India. India imports laptops and tablets worth about $8 billion every year.

Roh further said that Noida is a very important production base for Samsung. This is Samsung’s second-largest base. Considering the global demand, some changes may be made in the Noida base.

Let us tell you that feature phones, smartphones, wearables, and tablets are already being produced in the Noida factory, and the company will start manufacturing laptops this year. The company recently launched its flagship Galaxy S24 smartphone, which comes with AI. This phone will also be made in Noida.
