The Odisha government is starting the Subhadra scheme on Prime Minister Modi’s birthday. Under this, eligible women will be given financial assistance of Rs 10,000. Rs 10,000 will be directly credited to the account of eligible women. According to information from the Odisha government, about one crore women in the state will benefit from this scheme.

The Odisha government will launch this scheme on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, 17 September. Under this scheme, women will receive money directly in their accounts through direct benefit transfers in two instalments of Rs 5,000 annually. The scheme’s eligibility criteria are that the applicant women must be between 21 and 60 and be original residents of Odisha.
Under the scheme, women who are government employees will not be given benefits. Also, women without family members working in government jobs will not be given the scheme’s benefits.
