The government of India recently announced some important changes to the FASTag system. These changes will make toll collection more convenient and transparent. After introducing this new system, people will find it easier to pay tolls, and the journey will be better. Let us know what changes can be made to the FASTag system and what benefits people will get from it.

What Changes Will Be Made In The FASTag System?

According to media reports, under the new policy, vehicle owners will be able to travel as much as they want on national highways, expressways and state highways throughout the year by making an annual payment of Rs 3000. This pass will be digitally linked to the FASTag account, so people will not need to pay tolls repeatedly.

People will get two payment options: an annual pass and a distance-based fee. The second distance-based fee will be beneficial for those who travel less. They will have to pay Rs 50 per 100 km. People will not need additional documents or account changes to join the new FASTag system. They can avail of the new scheme by using their current FASTag account.

What Will Be The Benefit To People?

After introducing the new FASTag system, people will not face traffic jams at toll plazas and will save fuel. At the same time, under the new system, physical barriers will be removed at the toll plaza, and a sensor-based system will be implemented. With the help of this new system, toll revenue will be compensated, and fraud will be reduced. At the same time, banks will be given more rights to prevent toll theft. Soon, the government can issue detailed guidelines regarding this.
