Mahindra & Mahindra recently launched the Thar Roxx, which has a starting price of Rs 12.99 lakh. Mahindra has announced that bookings will start on October 3, 2024, both online and at brand dealerships across India. Test drives for the Thar Roxx will begin on September 14, while deliveries are scheduled to start on Dussehra.
Mahindra Thar Roxx Price
Mahindra has revealed the prices of select variants of the Thar Roxx. The 5-door Thar will be sold in six variants: MX1, MX3, MX5, AX3L, AX5L, and AX7L. The MX1 base petrol MT starts at Rs 12.99 lakh, going up to Rs 20.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the AX7L diesel MT. The current prices are for rear-wheel drive (RWD) trims, while 4×4 trims have yet to be announced.
Design and Dimensions
The new Mahindra Thar Roxx is much bigger than its three-door sibling. It measures 4,428 mm in length, 1,870 mm in width, and 1,928 mm in height. The wheelbase is 2,850 mm, 400 mm longer than the Thar 3-door. This 5-door SUV is built on the new M-Gylde platform.
Regarding off-road credentials, the Thar Roxx has an approach angle of 41.7 degrees, a ramp-over angle of 36.1 degrees, and a departure angle of 23.9 degrees. Its water-wading capacity is 650 mm. The SUV rides on 19-inch alloy wheels on the top trims, while the lower trims get 18-inch alloy wheels. The base MX1 and MX3 variants get 18-inch steel wheels.
Engine and Specifications
The Thar Rocks draws power from a 2.0-litre petrol engine tuned for 174 bhp and 380 Nm. It also has a 2.2-litre turbo diesel with 172 bhp and 370 Nm. Transmission options on both engines include a 6-speed manual and automatic. The SUV will be available in RWD and 4×4 options.
