Besides announcing plans, Skoda India has introduced the Explorer Edition of the Kushaq for the domestic market. This mid-size SUV has been well received by customers and is based on the MQB A0 IN platform, shared with Slavia, Virtus and Taigun.
What Is Special In Skoda Kushaq Explorer Edition?
The Explorer edition of the Skoda Kushaq has been given several updates. It is equipped with Ultra Mile 44 all-terrain Bull off-road spec tyres at the front and rear and a tow hook finished in orange, which is mounted on the lower part of the bumper.
Other highlights include a flagship roof rack, black alloy wheels and horizontally mounted auxiliary lights. Apart from this, no mechanical changes are expected. The Czech auto major has also added a head-up display, advanced reverse parking cameras, and a 360-degree camera system to the Kushaq Explorer edition.
Design Update
The exterior is finished in an optional matte green colour, while orange highlights on the lower door trim, front skid plate, grille, and bumper enhance the visual appeal. The price of Skoda Kushaq in India starts at Rs 11.89 lakh and goes up to Rs 20.49 lakh ex-showroom.
Engine
As for performance, the 1.0 litre, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine produces 109 bhp and 175 Nm of peak torque, while the 1.5 litre 4-cylinder petrol mill produces 148 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. A 6-speed manual is standard, while a 6-speed torque converter automatic and 7-speed DSG can be purchased depending on the chosen variant.
The Kushaq is already sold in India in Onyx, Monte Carlo, Matte, Elegance and Lava Blue versions, and recently, VW also introduced the GT Edge Trail version of the Taigun.
