Good news for the passengers amid Diwali: airlines have reduced their fares by up to 8.30 per cent. That means this is an excellent opportunity if you are considering going to your home by plane this festive season. What was happening was that before the festive season, tickets were being sold very expensive, due to which not many passengers were travelling by plane. Still, many airlines have reduced their fares, due to which more tickets are expected to be sold.
The Problem Is Due To Covid’s Ties
There has been an atmosphere of trouble for the airlines since COVID-19. Whenever the festive season arrives, passengers turn more towards aeroplanes. But the airlines had been increasing their fares for quite some time, due to which there was a significant decline in ticket bookings. Now, to overcome this, the airline has devised a new plan.
There Has Been A Decline In Profit
Currently, airlines are facing the brunt of fuel and airport fees. Due to this, a 10 to 12 per cent decline was seen in profit. Also, there is the festive season from October to December, in which big festivals like Diwali, Chhath and Christmas are celebrated. Airlines have decided to make their tickets cheaper to take advantage of this opportunity.
There Is A Shortage Of Passengers
According to a report, if we talk about air traffic in October, it was 3.30 per cent less than in September, while the companies added 1.2 per cent of new planes. There has been a decrease of 24,083 passengers daily in pre-Covid times. Due to this, 152 flights have been reduced. Therefore, companies are now developing new offers for their profit, which can be a big gift for the passengers.
