In such a situation, people’s time is saved, and flight travel is quite comfortable. The government has made a big decision in the interest of air passengers.

Now, forced meal charges will not be included in flight tickets. In addition, if a child up to 12 years of age is in a group, he will be given a seat along with his family; you will not have to pay any money for this.

According to the information from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) of the Central Government, no airline can compulsorily charge passengers for meals, snacks, drinks, etc. That means you can avail yourself of full service like Air India. If you travel by carrier, you may choose not to pay mile charges.

No Charge For Child Seats!

It has also been stated in the revised circular of DGCA that airlines will not charge any preferred seat charge from children travelling with their parents. There will be no payment for children 12 years of age and below. Children will be allotted seats next to their parents without paying any fee. Earlier, airlines used to charge some money for allotting seats together to children, but now this will not happen.

Sharing the data on social media platform X, the Civil Aviation Ministry wrote – India is witnessing unprecedented growth in domestic aviation, driven by sound policies, economic growth and expansion of low-cost carriers.

As more people access air travel, this sector is expected to grow. On April 21, 2023, 4,28,389 passengers flew in 5899 flights. On April 21, 2024, 4,71,751 passengers flew on 6128 flights.
