According to Russian state media, the Aurus is Russia’s first luxury car brand and is used in the convoys of top officials. United Nations Expressed Objection

In particular, North Korea and Russia have grown increasingly close over the past year, as Pyongyang has advanced its weapons and nuclear programs and Moscow has continued its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The United States and South Korea have raised concerns that North Korea is supplying Russia with weapons to use in the war in Ukraine in exchange for technical expertise.

Russia and China, North Korea’s oldest allies, have repeatedly blocked efforts to impose new UN sanctions on North Korea over its banned ballistic missile tests, according to news agency ANI. South Korea’s Unification Ministry said it had assessed that Aurus’ gift also violated UN sanctions.
