Today, the 9th IPL 2023 was played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore. The match saw Faf du Plessis’s RCB take on Shah Rukh Khan’s KKR at their home, with KKR’s Shardul Thakur batting first and hitting the fastest half-century of the IPL to help his team post a big total. The video of his celebration is becoming quite viral on social media.
Shardul Scored Half a Century With a 250+ Strike Rate.
Team Kolkata faltered a lot in the beginning while batting first. Venkatesh Iyer, Mandeep Singh, Nitish Rana, and Andre Russell, none of the batters could do anything amazing for the team today. At one time, it seemed difficult for the team to cross even 100 when Shardul Thakur, who came to bat at number 7, turned the tide of the match.
Shardul started his innings best, starting with the first ball when he came on the field. Shardul rained fours and sixes badly and scored fast runs under challenging times for the team. Shardul scored the second-fastest half-century of IPL 2023 in 20 balls by hitting 9 fours and 3 sixes. Shardul performed brilliantly while bowling at a strike rate of 250+.
