Jitesh Sharma Got Out Due To His Own Mistake, Entry Into Hardik-Rahul Unwanted Club

Based on captain Suryakumar Yadav’s century, India scored 201 runs for 7 wickets against South Africa in the third and last T20 match. India lost three wickets in the final over of the innings.

Captain Surya was out on the next ball to score his century. After this, Ravindra Jadeja was run out, and Jitesh Sharma was hit wicket. Wicketkeeper-batsman Jitesh Sharma registered an unwanted record in his name with the hit wicket. He has become the fifth Indian player to be hit wicket in T20 International.

In the last T20 match played at Wanderers Stadium, on the fifth ball of the final over of India’s innings, wicketkeeper-batsman Jitesh Sharma went deep inside the crease while trying to hit a big shot and there, his shoe collided with the stump. Due to this, the bails fell, and he was out hit wicket. Jitesh Sharma has become the fifth Indian to be hit wicket. Before him, KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Harshal Patel, and Shreyas Iyer were hit wickets in T20 International.

What Does The Rule Say?

According to Rule 35.1.1 regarding hit wicket, if the batsman’s bat or any part of his body hits the stump while the bowler is in the delivery stride, the ball is in play, and the bails fall, it is considered a hit wicket. If the striker batsman drops his bails while playing the ball, he will hit the wicket.
