Chennai Super Kings is out of IPL 2024. In its last league match, CSK faced defeat at Royal Challengers Bangalore’s hands. In the 17th season, the team captained by Ruturaj Gaikwad played 14 matches and won 7. After CSK is out of the playoff race, there are speculations that this could be MS Dhoni’s last season. However, in the meantime, CSK CEO has given good news to the fans.
CEO Kasi Viswanathan Expressed Hope
Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanathan said the team will await Dhoni’s decision. He said the franchise never interfered in the decisions of its former captain. Viswanathan also said that, like the fans, the franchise hopes Dhoni will return and play another season of the Indian Premier League in 2025. Dhoni looked very disappointed after the match against RCB. Many of his pictures also went viral on social media.

Only Dhoni Can Tell
Mahendra Singh Dhoni did not give any update on his future after the loss to RCB. Chennai Super Kings won the title in IPL 2023 under his captaincy. After the final match, Dhoni said he wanted to play one more season, which would be a gift for his fans.
Kasi Viswanathan said in an interview, “I don’t know. This is a question that only MS can answer. See the question for us is that we have always respected the decisions taken by MS. We have left it to them. As you all know he has always taken his decisions and announced them at the appropriate time.”
Expected To Be Available Next Season
The CSK CEO said, “We hope to get the decision whenever he takes it, but we are very hopeful that he will be available for CSK next year. The fans and I are hoping so.” Some of MS Dhoni’s former teammates, Ambati Rayudu, Suresh Raina, and Robin Uthappa, have expressed hope that Mahi can be seen in action next season. Uthappa said Dhoni would be keen to make a strong comeback in the 18th season after the disappointment of the 2024 season.
