Soon, your mobile will have such technology that will alert you before an earthquake occurs. In fact, tech giant Google informed in one of its blogs on Wednesday that it is soon going to provide an earthquake alert system to Indian Android users, and preparations have been started for it.
Let us tell you that most of the states of India fall in the earthquake zone, and due to the dense population, if a strong earthquake occurs here, there will be a lot of loss of life and property. In such a situation, Google’s earthquake alert feature is going to be very useful for Indian Android users. Let us know when Google will roll out this feature for Android users.
When Will This Feature Be Rolled Out?
Google is preparing to launch an earthquake alert system for Android users soon; for this, Google is consulting the National Disaster Management Authority and National Seismology Centre. According to Google’s blog post, its technology will work to send warnings before the earthquake starts. According to the company, this service will be made available in Android 5 and later versions in the coming weeks.
How Will The Smartphone Detect?
Google said that this system turns your phone into a mini earthquake detector. The earthquake alert system uses the accelerometer present in the phone as a seismograph. When your phone is not charging and is not moving, it can detect the initial signs of an earthquake. If several phones detect an earthquake simultaneously, Google’s servers will come to know.
