‘India Will Not Get Exemption’, America Gave Strong Reaction To Canada’s Allegations

America seems to be becoming strict regarding Canada’s allegations against India. America has said on the claims of India’s involvement in the murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada that India will not get any special exemption from America.

Speaking to reporters at the White House on Thursday, America’s National Security Advisor Jack Sullivan said sternly that America will stand for its fundamental principles no matter which country is affected by it.

Addressing a White House press conference, Sullivan said the United States is deeply concerned about Canada’s allegations and supports the investigation. He said that America wants the criminals to be brought to justice.

Journalists asked Sullivan whether President Joe Biden would talk to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on this issue and if this dispute threatened relations between America and India.

In response, Sullivan said that he did not want to talk about private diplomatic talks but that the US is in touch with Indian officials at the highest level on this issue.

‘America Will Not Give Special Exemption To India’

Addressing reporters, Sullivan said, This is a matter of concern for us. This is a matter which we have taken seriously. We will continue to work on it, and we will do so regardless of any country. You will not be given any special exemption for such work. Irrespective of any country, we will stand for our basic principles. We will also work closely with our close ally, Canada, as it leads the investigation and diplomatic process of the case.

Earlier in a press briefing, Sullivan said the US is highly concerned about a possible link between Indian government agents in a murder in Canada. He fully supports the investigation and wants to bring the criminals to justice, and the US is in touch with both governments.

He said, As soon as we heard about the allegations from the Canadian PM, we came forward and expressed our concern over this allegation. “We support law enforcement agencies to get to the bottom of what happened and hold the perpetrators accountable.”

What Did American Officials Say On Reports Of Differences With Canada?

Recently, a report came out in which it was said that America is avoiding getting involved in this matter of Canada and is keeping its distance from it. The report said that America is avoiding criticizing India regarding this matter.

Rejecting these reports, Sullivan said, I have seen efforts in the media to create a rift between America and Canada. I strongly reject the idea that there is no difference of opinion between the United States and Canada. We are deeply concerned about the allegations and would like the investigation to proceed and the perpetrators to be prosecuted. Since this allegation came to light, America has maintained that it will continue to provide its full support until the investigation is completed.
