Canada Changed Working Rules: The Government of Canada has issued a new decree for students and made a new rule for international students, which will be implemented in September. Under this rule, international students can work only 24 hours a week outside the college campus. Earlier, international students were allowed to work off campus for more than 20 hours, but this temporary policy was abolished on April 30.
Canada’s Citizenship Minister Marc Miller said we are reducing the time limit for working off campus to only 24 hours a week. From September, international students can work outside the campus only for 24 hours. Students who come to Canada must come to study to focus on their studies, so this is being done. By allowing students to work up to 24 hours per week, they will focus primarily on their studies. If necessary, they will also have the option of work. He said that working outside the campus will provide work experience to international students. It also helps in defraying some expenses.
Canada Has The Highest Number Of Indian Students.
During Corona, temporary permission was given to work for 20 hours. Now, the Liberal Party government of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has abolished the 20-hour limit. This exemption ended on Tuesday. Canada is one of the most preferred destinations for Indian students. According to the 2022 report of the Canadian Bureau of Investigation, there were 3,19,130 Indian students in Canada. The number of Indian students is highest in the colleges and universities here.
Miller said working off campus gives international students work experience and helps defray some expenses. We want them to be prepared to stay here and leave successfully. Most importantly, people coming to Canada as students should focus on studying, not working.
