This Dam Is Part Of Xi Jinping’s Five Year Plan, Will Be Built At 285 Crores

China has been accused of usurping the land of the people of Tibet. According to reports, China is preparing to build Lingya Hydro Power Dam in Tibet’s Rebgong and Kinthai areas. For this, he needs to evacuate the surrounding areas.

However, many are not ready to leave their land and homes. In such a situation, Chinese officials are threatening not to give compensation to these people. The hydro project for which China confiscates people’s land is part of its five-year plan. On which 285 crore rupees are to be made.

People Of Tibet Forced To Work In China

China is evacuating the areas of Shu-Ong-Kye, Shu-Ong-Nyi-tha, Langya, Malpa-Jam, Malpa-Kharnang-Kharshi, and Malpa-Chauwo of Tibet for the Hydro Project. Dam work will start soon. People say they have no other survival option besides their village and farms.

In such a situation, when the officials get the land vacated from them, they have to go to the cities of China and work as labourers. China is doing this to include the people of Tibet in its culture forcibly.

Tibet-China Dispute Is Years Old

The dispute between China and Tibet is years old. China claims that Tibet was a part of China in the 13th century, so it has the right over Tibet. Tibet rejects this claim of China. In 1912, the Dalai Lama, the 13th religious leader of Tibet, declared Tibet independent. Then China did not object to this, but when the communist government came to power in China in 1949, its expansionist policies threatened the independence of Tibet. On 6–7 October 1950, the Chinese army invaded Tibet and defeated the Tibetan military after 8 months of struggle.

China asked Tibet to send its representative to Beijing to negotiate a settlement. Eventually, on 23 May 1951, Tibet signed a 17-provision accord with China, making China’s occupation of Tibet official.

On 18 April 1959, the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet announced that China had forced this agreement. Therefore China’s occupation of Tibet is illegal, but despite this, China did not desist from its antics, and its occupation of Tibet continues even today. The Dalai Lama is said to be Tibet’s most significant religious leader. The current Dalai Lama of Tibet is their 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, who has lived in India since 1959.
