At Asia’s Top Security Summit in Singapore, Shangfu admitted that any conflict with the US would be like an intolerable disaster. Along with this, China has offered talks to America. The Chinese Defense Minister also said that the world is too big for the US and China to move forward together.

What Did The Defense Minister Of China Say Earlier

Chinese Defense Minister Li Shangfu’s statement came after that development when he turned down direct talks with the US Defense Minister. Earlier in March, while talking about National Defense, the Chinese Defense Minister had said that the systems of China and America are entirely different. We are different on many other fronts as well. Now the same China is offering talks. He said that we should talk on common ground for our interests.

According to the reports, there is tension between China and America on many issues. This includes the ban imposed by Joe Biden on exporting Taiwan, the South China Sea and semiconductor chips.

America Gave A Befitting Reply To China

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has given a befitting reply to China at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore. He said that Washington would not oppose China’s coercion and intimidation tactics. Lloyd Austin said that Washington does not favour any coercion and intimidation of its allies and partners by China.

He said that the Taiwan issue should be resolved through dialogue. America is increasing its activity in the Indo-Pacific region, rejecting China’s claim. America said that we want all world countries to fly and follow the cell operator international law.

What Is The Shangri-La Dialogue Of Singapore?

The Shangri-La Dialogue is an annual forum in Singapore bringing together the world’s top defence officials, diplomats and leaders. Samant Goyal, head of India’s Intelligence Research and Development Wing, participated in it. US Defense Secretary Austin endorsed Washington’s vision of a free, open and secure Indo-Pacific under a world of rules and rights. He described it as the best way to counter China’s growing regional aggression.
