G7 Summit: On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the G-7 meeting in Hiroshima, Japan. During this, US President Joe Biden also arrived. Seeing PM Modi, Biden walked up to him and hugged him. PM Modi warmly welcomed Biden. India is not a member of G-7. But on the invitation of Japan’s PM Fumio Kishida, India has reached the meeting as a guest member.

Fumio Kishida Also Warmly Welcomed
Earlier, PM Modi was received by his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida upon his arrival for Session 6 of the G-7 summit in Hiroshima. At the same time, on Friday, PM Modi had several rounds of meetings with Kishida to further improve the relations between India and Japan. The two leaders also discussed the focus areas of India’s G20 and Japan’s G7 Presidency towards bettering the world. The Prime Minister stressed the need to highlight the concerns and priorities of the Global South.

Will Meet Zelensky Today
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Tokyo. This will be the first in-person meeting between the two leaders since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war. Zelensky has reached Japan. The Ukrainian President is attending the summit at the invitation of Japan.
