The dismissal was revealed by Major General Ivan Popov, who commanded the 58th United Armed Forces in Ukraine’s southern Zaporizhzhia region, according to audio released by Andrey Guryev, a member of Russia’s largest party United Russia.

According to an audio clip posted on Telegram on Wednesday (July 12) by Russian politician and former deputy commander of the Southern Military Command Andrey Guryev, Major General Ivan Popov said that he was aware of the situation in the troops. He was removed from office for speaking about it.
Popov said, “I called things by their proper names and focused on the most important thing. It is a modern war tragedy. Our brothers have suffered heavy injuries from the enemy’s artillery.” However, Guryev, a member of Russia’s largest party United Russia, did not say how he got the recording involving Major General Ivan Popov.
‘Russian Soldiers Were Stabbed In The Back
According to the news agency Reuters, Major General Ivan Popov said that Russian soldiers were stabbed in the back due to the failures of top military officials. He said in the audio message that the Ukrainian army could not break our ranks at the front, but our senior chief hit us from behind. He decapitated the army at the most difficult and crucial moment.
Popov’s army call sign was ‘Spartacus,’ he commanded Russian units in southern Ukraine. He explicitly raised the issue of the death of Russian soldiers from Ukrainian artillery. There was no immediate comment from the Russian Defense Ministry after this audio message.
