The third match of the T20 series between India and Afghanistan is being played in Bengaluru. Team India got off to a fast start in this match. But the team suffered two big back-to-back setbacks in the third over. Virat Kohli, one of the biggest batsmen of Team India, was out on zero on the very first ball. He became the victim of a golden duck and was out like this for the first time in his 14-year-old T20 International career. He had played an innings of 29 runs in 16 balls in the last match. Farid Ahmed took his wicket.
First Golden Duck In 109th Innings
Virat Kohli made his T20 International debut in 2010. Since then, he has played 117 matches and got out on a golden duck for the first time in 14 years. This was the 109th inning of his T20 International career. Overall, this was his fifth duck in this format. But he was in this format for the first time on the golden duck, i.e., the first ball.

Virat Kohli has 4037 runs in his name in 117 T20 Internationals at an average of 51.7. He is the highest T20 International run scorer worldwide. He has 37 half-centuries and one century in his name in T20 International. If Virat had scored six runs in this match, he would have become the first player to score 12 thousand T20 runs for India. But he could not do this. Now, he will be seen playing this format directly in the T20 World Cup 2024 if he is selected for the team.
