After the advent of the Internet, the country has had a digital revolution. However, online and mobile fraud is the biggest threat in this digital world. Every year, lakhs become cyber-attack victims and lose their hard-earned savings. But now, the central government has made full preparations to crack down on cyber fraud. To deal with online and mobile fraud, the Government of India has prepared to attack from many fronts simultaneously.
Government and private telecom companies will collaborate on this. Complete preparations have been made to create the Calling Name Presentation (CNAP) and National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA), which will fight online fraud.
CNAP and NCSA Will Be Formed Within 100 Days
A senior official told The Economic Times that private telecom companies will fully cooperate with the central government to implement CNAP (Calling Name Presentation) and NCSA (National Cyber Security Agency). Both these works will be done within 100 days of the formation of the new government.
Cyber Security Agency will work to prevent all types of digital fraud. It will work together with many departments. It will develop many things to prevent cyber attacks and fraud. Its main objective will be to save small businesses and the commoner with the help of technology.
Calling Name Presentation Will Stop Fake Calls
He said these people are the biggest victims of digital fraud because they do not have technical security means. Telecom companies will also play an important role in implementing calling name presentations. In this system, the caller’s identification will become very easy. Here, the network will identify the caller from where the call came.
TRAI Has Given Suggestion In February Itself
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) gave suggestions on 23 February. With the introduction of this system, fraud calls will be curbed. Fraudsters cannot claim to be a law enforcement agency, bank, or customs officer. The network from which the call is coming will identify it and send it to the receiver. This will provide a lot of convenience to the person receiving the call.
