Popular e-commerce site Amazon is about to shut down one of its services. Many users will be affected by this. Amazon India has announced this. Amazon Food Service will be discontinued in India from next month. This service will be closed on 29 December.
Amazon Food was launched in the year 2020. The company introduced this service at the time of Corona. Through this, food was delivered to the people. The company wanted to compete with Swiggy and Zomato through this. This service was introduced in Bangalore.
The company had plans to introduce it in other cities as well. However, the company could not do so. Now the closure of Amazon Food Service has been announced. However, the company has told the restaurant that it will fulfil all the payments and contracts.
Restaurants can use Amazon’s tools and reports until 2023. For this, the company will give full assistance till 31 March. Sanford C. Bernstein’s recent report states that the company’s profit is falling short of Flipkart’s Walmart.
The company is struggling a lot in smaller Indian cities. Because of this, the company had to take this decision. In a statement issued by Amazon, it has been said that we do not take such decisions lightly.
The company further said that it is shutting down these programs in a phased manner to take care of the existing customers and partners. During this, she is also supporting the employees affected by this. The company will continue to work to provide a better online shopping experience.
