Significant changes have been seen in Team India for the two-match Test series against Bangladesh. Captain Rohit Sharma has been ruled out of the first match due to a left thumb injury.
Without Rohit, KL Rahul got the chance to captain the team in the first Test. At the same time, Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja will not be able to participate in both matches. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has given information about this by issuing a statement.
Easwaran Can Debut In The First Test
BCCI has included Navdeep Saini, Jaydev Unadkat, Abhimanyu Easwaran and Saurabh Kumar in the Indian team for the Test series. Opener Abhimanyu Easwaran was part of the Indian Test team on the tour of England last year. Since making his debut in December 2013, he has been one of the strong contenders for the opening slot in red-ball cricket but has not been able to debut. Easwaran may get a chance to debut in the first test match against Bangladesh.
Unadkat Returns To Test Team After 12 Years
Fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat has been rewarded for his brilliant performance in domestic cricket. If seen, Unadkat has returned to the Indian Test team after 12 years. Unadkat, 31, made his Test debut in 2010, but then he got a chance to play only one match against South Africa. Unadkat also played seven ODIs for India in the year 2013. Eight wickets are registered in the name of Unadkat in One Day International.
The selection committee has also added fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat to India’s squad for the Test series.

Navdeep-Saurabh Also Got A Chance
Fast bowler Navdeep Saini has also returned to the Test team after almost 2 years. Saini played his last Test match against Australia in January 2021. 30-year-old Navdeep Saini has played two Tests, eight ODIs and 11 T20 matches for India. During this, Saini took four wickets in Tests, six in ODIs and 13 in T20 Internationals.
On the other hand, 29-year-old Saurabh Kumar has been selected for Team India for the third time. Saurabh Kumar was included in the standby team for the 2021-22 tour of South Africa. After this, Saurabh Kumar was also selected for the Test series against Sri Lanka but did not get a chance to debut. Saurabh Kumar is a left-handed all-rounder. Saurabh Kumar had an all-round performance for India-A in two four-day matches against Bangladesh-A.
